HARRISBURGSen. Lynda Schlegel Culver (R-27) will host “How to Be a Better Applicant,” a free grant writing seminar on Thursday, Aug. 13, from 2-4 p.m. at the Bloomsburg Area High School Auditorium, 1200 Railroad St., Bloomsburg.

The seminar is designed for municipalities, first responders, nonprofit organizations and other entities throughout the 27th Senatorial District that prepare or submit grant applications.

Building on the introductory grant seminars hosted over the past year, this session will take a deeper look at what makes a strong grant application. Attendees will hear from Joe Marsicano, the Pennsylvania Senate’s Funding & Resource Specialist, who will share practical strategies for strengthening applications, avoiding common mistakes and improving competitiveness.

“Securing grant funding can make a real difference for our communities, and a strong application is often the first step,” Culver said. “This seminar is an opportunity for applicants to learn practical strategies that can improve their chances of success and help bring more resources back to our region.”

Registration is requested by Tuesday, Aug. 11. To register, visit SenatorCulver.com or call Senator Culver’s Shamokin Dam district office at 570-743-1918.
