HARRISBURG – Sen. Lynda Schlegel Culver (R-27) and Rep. Justin Fleming (D-105) will host Scouting America Day at the Capitol on Monday, June 8, featuring Scouting America’s annual Report to the Commonwealth.

Scouting America, formerly known as the Boy Scouts of America, is a Congressionally Chartered Organization that delivers official reports to federal leaders. Pennsylvania is among the states that have adopted this tradition at the state level to highlight the contributions of Scouting.

The event will bring Scouts from across Pennsylvania to Harrisburg to recognize the service, leadership, civic engagement and personal development efforts of Scouts throughout the Commonwealth.

“Scouting helps young people build character, serve their communities and understand the importance of civic responsibility,” Culver said. “I look forward to welcoming Scouts from across Pennsylvania to the Capitol and recognizing the positive impact they continue to make in communities across our Commonwealth.”

The event will include remarks from legislative leaders and Scout representatives, as well as the presentation of Scouting America’s Report to the Commonwealth.

The event is scheduled for Monday, June 8, at 11:00 A.M. in the Main Rotunda at the state Capitol in Harrisburg.
