HARRISBURG – Senator Lynda Schlegel Culver (R-27) and Representative Michael Stender (R-108) today announced that the Danville Industrial Distribution Center has been awarded $2 million through the Commonwealth’s Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP).
The project includes improvements to two warehouse buildings, including construction of a warehouse extension, office and mezzanine space, restrooms, retention pond improvements and rail line upgrades. The rehabilitation will allow Prime PA LLC/Sherwood Lumber to establish operations in Danville, creating additional employment opportunities in manufacturing, warehousing and trucking.
“Revitalizing existing industrial properties helps attract new investment while creating good-paying jobs close to home,” said Culver. “This project will breathe new life into an underutilized site and strengthen Danville’s role as an important hub for manufacturing, distribution and transportation.”
“This funding will be part a major economic upgrade for Montour County,” said Stender. “The rehabilitation and renovation of these warehouses will allow Sherwood Lumer to be operational in Danville, which will increase job opportunities in sectors like trucking and industrial work. This will bring big benefits back to our community and provide opportunity for my constituents across the 108th District.”
The Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program provides grants for the acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic and historical improvement projects that support job creation and economic growth throughout Pennsylvania.
