Senator Culver Announces Over $1,000,000 in State Grant Funding for Luzerne County Projects

HARRISBURG – Sen. Lynda Schlegel Culver (R-27) today announced $1,005,058 in state grant funding has been awarded to support infrastructure, public safety and community improvement projects in Luzerne County.

The funding was approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) through the Local Share Account (LSA) Luzerne County program and will benefit municipalities in Luzerne County.

“These investments will help local communities address practical needs while easing the financial burden on local taxpayers,” Culver said. “From road and bridge improvements to stormwater work, equipment purchases and public safety support, this funding will help municipalities complete projects that directly impact residents. I appreciate the collaboration with Rep. Ryncavage and Rep. Walsh in supporting these important projects for our shared communities.”

Rep. Alec Ryncavage emphasized the importance of the Local Share Account program in helping municipalities complete needed projects without placing additional pressure on local taxpayers.

“As costs continue to rise and local budgets are stretched thinner every year, programs like the Local Share Account, funded by Pennsylvania’s gaming industry, remain one of the most important tools we have to help communities move projects from the drawing board to reality. Whether it’s infrastructure, public safety, parks, or community improvements, these investments help our municipalities make meaningful progress without placing the burden on local taxpayers,” Ryncavage said.

Rep. Jamie Walsh also noted the value of working together to secure funding for local municipalities.

“I am thankful for the opportunity to work with Senator Culver to secure much-needed funding for these municipalities. Our communities and residents will benefit from the funding provided for these projects,” Walsh said.
