Senator Culver Announce $1 Million State Rail Grant for SEKISUI KYDEX Expansion Project in Columbia County

BLOOMSBURG – Senator Lynda Schlegel Culver (R-27) announced $1 million in state grant funding has been awarded to SEKISUI KYDEX, LLC in Columbia County to support a rail siding project that will increase capacity at the company’s Bloomsburg South Campus Facility.

The funding, announced by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), will allow SEKISUI KYDEX to remove an existing siding and construct a new extended siding to improve freight efficiency and support continued growth. The project is funded through PennDOT’s Rail Transportation Assistance Program (RTAP) and Rail Freight Assistance Program (RFAP).

“Rail improvements like this are a practical investment in jobs and local industry,” Culver said. “SEKISUI KYDEX is an important employer in our region, and this grant will help increase capacity and keep freight moving more efficiently. I appreciate the work that went into securing this funding and I will continue supporting projects that strengthen our economy and keep Pennsylvania competitive.”

PennDOT’s announcement includes nearly $53 million in funding for 30 rail freight improvement projects statewide, aimed at enhancing freight mobility and supporting job growth across the Commonwealth.

Senator Culver encouraged local employers and municipalities to continue pursuing state and federal infrastructure resources that improve efficiency and support long-term economic development.
