Culver and Stender Announce $950,000 in State Grants for Montour and Northumberland County Transportation Projects

HARRISBURG – Sen. Lynda Schlegel Culver (R-27) and Rep. Michael Stender (R-108) today announced the approval of $950,000 in state grants to support transportation infrastructure projects in Montour and Northumberland Counties.

The grants were approved today by the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) through its Multimodal Transportation Fund (MTF) program, which supports projects that enhance communities and improve transportation networks.

“These grants represent a significant investment in the infrastructure of Montour and Northumberland Counties,” said Culver. “By supporting these critical road reconstruction projects, we are ensuring safer, more reliable transportation for our residents and laying the groundwork for continued economic growth in our communities.”

Representative Stender also commented, stating, “I’m happy to see these dollars coming to support our community. Better roads are crucial to our daily lives, and this funding will help make a real difference.”

Grant recipients:

Danville Borough will receive $350,000 to reconstruct a segment of Church Street in Danville Borough, Montour County.

Delaware Township will receive $250,000 for Phase I reconstruction of Vincent Avenue in Delaware Township, Northumberland County.

Lewis Township will receive $150,000 for road construction along Old State Road in Lewis Township, Northumberland County.

Sunbury City will receive $350,000 to reconstruct Packer Street in Sunbury City, Northumberland County.

The Multimodal Transportation Fund is administered by the Commonwealth Financing Authority, an independent agency of the Department of Community and Economic Development.
