Anthony J. McDonald Confirmed as Judge of the Court of Common Pleas for Columbia and Montour Counties

Harrisburg, PA– The Pennsylvania Senate today confirmed the appointment of Anthony J. McDonald as Judge of the Court of Common Pleas for Columbia and Montour Counties. McDonald brings extensive legal experience and a deep commitment to public service to the position.

McDonald has a distinguished legal career spanning over 30 years. He graduated from the University of Maryland Baltimore County in 1991 with a B.A. in History and earned his J.D. from The Dickinson School of Law in 1994. His career includes serving as an Assistant Columbia County Solicitor, Columbia County Solicitor, Columbia County Assistant Public Defender, and Columbia County Assistant District Attorney. He has also represented numerous municipal governments in various capacities.

Beyond his legal work, McDonald has a strong record of community involvement, including leadership roles in organizations such as the Berwick Rotary Club, the Berwick Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Berwick Area United Way.

“I am honored and humbled by this appointment,” said Judge McDonald. “I am committed to serving the citizens of Columbia and Montour Counties with fairness, integrity, and a dedication to justice.”

McDonald will assume his judicial duties in the next few weeks after receiving his commission and oath of office from the Governor and the Dept. of State.
