HARRISBURG – Two Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) grants totaling $2 million have been awarded in Montour County according to Sen. Lynda Schlegel Culver (R-27) and Rep. Michael Stender (R-108).
“I am happy to see this significant amount of state dollars coming to Montour County,” said Culver. “This funding will enable local businesses to make essentials upgrades that would otherwise be unattainable.”
Grants have been awarded to the following projects:
- A $1 million grant was awarded to the Liberty Group for improvements being made to Frosty Valley Resort, which will add an ADA accessible aquatics area and pool facility and construct a new community building for short-term and long-term tenants.
- A $1 million grant was awarded to the Montour County Administrative Center to improve the HVAC system to ensure the health and safety of the employees and public utilizing the facility.
“I’m thrilled to see this funding returning to our district,” said Stender. “These projects will enhance the accessibility and safety of both facilities for the benefit of local residents.”
RACP is administered by the Office of Budget for the acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational, and historical improvement projects. RACP projects are authorized in the Redevelopment Assistance section of a Capital Budget Itemization Act. They must have a regional or multi-jurisdictional impact and generate substantial increases or maintain current levels of employment, tax revenues, or other measures of economic activity.
