Culver Announces $6.1 Million in Grants for School Facility Improvement Projects

HARRISBURG – Sen. Lynda Schlegel Culver (R-27) has announced more than $6.1 million in state funding has been awarded to school districts across the 27th Senate District for school facility improvement projects.

The grants were awarded through the Commonwealth Financing Authority’s Public School Facilities Improvement Grant Program, which provides grants to public school districts and area career and technical schools for eligible facility improvement projects. The following school districts from the region were awarded funding:

  • Benton Area School District
  • Berwick Area School District
  • Bloomsburg Area School District
  • Columbia Montour Area Vocational Technical School
  • Crestwood School District
  • Midd-West School District
  • Milton Area School District
  • Mount Carmel Area School District
  • Northumberland County Career and Technology Center
  • Shamokin Area School District
  • Shikellamy School District
  • Warrior Run School District

“I am happy to see investments to school districts across the district and the Commonwealth,” said Culver. “These funds will provide vital infrastructural repairs and upgrades to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our students. Providing our students with quality facilities will help them focus on their education and future.”

The Commonwealth Financing Authority is an independent agency of the Department of Community and Economic Development that administers many of Pennsylvania’s economic development and community improvement programs.
