HARRISBURG – Sen. Lynda Schlegel Culver (R-27) today voted for the balanced state budget approved by the Senate, which would fund the core functions of government without raising existing or implementing new taxes. Culver issued the following statement after the vote:
“The Senate approved a balanced, on-time state budget that would provide historic funding levels for schools and students while protecting taxpayers against any additional burden.
“This budget focuses on people – both the Pennsylvanians who benefit from government programs and services, and the taxpayers who fund them. The comprehensive spending plan includes bipartisan components and would lay a strong foundation for future state budgets.
“The fiscally responsible budget approved by the Senate would provide the largest state investment in education in Pennsylvania history.”
