Merry Christmas!

As we prepare to celebrate Christmas, I want to extend my warmest wishes to you and your family. I hope your holiday is filled with joy, laughter, and meaningful time with those you hold dear. This season offers a welcome opportunity to pause, reflect, and appreciate the many blessings we share as a community.

Please note that walk-in hours may be limited at my offices for the next two weeks due to the holidays. I encourage you to call ahead and if need be, leave a voicemail or email us. My staff and I remain committed to serving you, and we appreciate your understanding during this special time of year.

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy New Year.

Honoring Kendra Aucker’s Health Care Leadership

Together with Senator Gene Yaw, I recently had the pleasure of presenting a Senate Citation to Kendra Aucker as she prepares for retirement after more than 30 years of service in health care leadership.

Kendra currently serves as Senior Vice President of WellSpan Health’s North Region and President of WellSpan Evangelical Community Hospital. She has been part of the hospital’s senior leadership team since 1990 and became President in 2015, following earlier roles that included Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Over her career, she helped guide the hospital’s long-term growth while maintaining a strong focus on patient care and community needs.

As Kendra prepares to retire in January 2026, I was glad to join colleagues and community members in thanking her for her leadership and service. I wish her all the best in this next chapter.

North Shore Railroad Unveils ‘America’s 250th’ Locomotive

This week, I was excited to see North Shore Railroad’s unveiling of its “America’s 250th” Semiquincentennial locomotive, NSHR 2238, in Northumberland. Timed just days ahead of the anniversary of George Washington’s crossing of the Delaware River, the event was a thoughtful way to highlight the history and ideals that helped shape our nation.

What made this unveiling especially memorable was the artistry and local involvement behind it. The locomotive was completely hand-painted by Pedro Reyes of Sunbury, bringing to life a design that includes scenes and symbols such as Washington’s crossing of the Delaware, the Declaration of Independence, the Liberty Bell, the American flag, and other patriotic imagery.

Thank you to North Shore Railroad and everyone who contributed to this project. It was a meaningful way to recognize our shared history as we look ahead to America’s 250th anniversary.
