Damaged License Plate Replacement Event – Fri., Oct. 10th in MiddleburgI will be hosting a Damaged License Plate Replacement Event on Friday, October 10, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at First United Church of Christ, 8671 Route 522 in Middleburg. This event will give residents the opportunity to have their license plates inspected by local law enforcement. Plates that are peeling, blistered, discolored, or cannot be read from 50 feet away may qualify for a free replacement through PennDOT. Police officers will be on-site to verify whether plates qualify and to help complete the necessary paperwork. Once approved, PennDOT will mail new plates directly to vehicle owners. There is no cost for this service, but participants must bring the license plate and the current registration card for the specific vehicle they want replaced. Both items are required at the event in order to complete the application. To save time, pre-registration is encouraged by visiting SenatorCulver.com or calling my Shamokin Dam office at 570-743-1918. Municipal Grant Seminar Connects Local Leaders with Funding OpportunitiesOn Wednesday, I hosted a Municipal Grant Seminar at the Montour County Administration Building in Danville. The seminar brought together local officials and community leaders from across the five counties of the 27th District to learn more about grant programs that can help fund projects in our region. We were joined by Joe Marsicano from the Pennsylvania Senate, Paul Macknosky from the Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED), Leslie Cote from PENNVEST, and Wes Fahringer from the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR). Each shared valuable information on funding opportunities for infrastructure, water and sewer projects, recreation and conservation efforts, and rural development.
